The Mardi Himal Trek is the ideal location for those who want to take in the beauty of isolated, perpetually snow-capped mountains, as well as the fantastic chance to explore Machhapuchhare Base Camp and have an amazing cultural experience. The Mardi Himal is named for the long rising ridge peak that can be viewed from the Phewa Lake in Pokhara City as well as the south-western lower slope of the triangular Mount Machhapuchhare (6,993m). The mountain's twin peaks and closer westerly vantage point are the origins of its name, Machhapuchhare, which translates to "Fish tail" in English.

The Mardi Himal Trekking trail begins by passing through a dense forest of pine, juniper, and rhododendron with roaring rivers producing noise. A different route then leads us steeply down to the upper Mardi Khola. The stream has been the Mardi Himal's ice and snow. The Mardi Himal walking path transports you to a remote location far from other popular trekking routes and immerses you in the atmosphere of hospitable, friendly valleys. From the scenic Nepalese hillside village of siding, the walk proceeds along the bank of the Mardi Khola past charming rice terraces and communities with distinct cultural traditions. Above Machhapuchre High Camp (4,100 m), the Mardi Himal Trekking trail ascends through the forest and many fauna. It provides views of the Mardi Himal (5,588 m) and Mt. Annapurna massif, a spectacular range of mountains in the center of the Himalayas that features some of the most breathtaking up-close views of five of the world's fourteen tallest summits.

The Annapurna Mardi Himal Trek is one of the less traveled trekking routes that offers the chance to enjoy a rich culture and the adventure of Machhapuchhare Base camp. One of the popular trekking destinations in the Nepalese Himalaya is the Mardi Himal Trek or Machhapuchhare Trek. The Khair Trekking offers the chance to explore off of Nepal's tourist routes and trek through dense forests and high alpine meadows that border the Annapurna Himalaya.Cost-wise it is not expensive to trek in Mardi Himal area.
